Isabelle HAIRY is architect archeologist at the Centre dʹEtudes Alexandrines as a CNRS engineer since 1996. In particular, she is in charge of the work at the archeological site of the Pharos of Alexandria, under the supervision of Jean‐Yves Empereur. She is Architect DPLG of the « Ecole d’Architecture de Paris‐la‐Défense », master in Archeology of the University of Lyon II, and she has obtained a « Certificat d’Etudes Approfondies » in Architecture and Archeology. She is currently preparing her PhD about a new image of the Pharos of Alexandria by confronting documentary and archeological sources.
Laurent BOREL is a CNRS research engineer, architect and archeologist at the Centre dʹEtudes Alexandrines. Since 2003, he is the co‐director with Ch. March of the conservation and valorization project of the cistern el‐Nabih, under the supervision of Jean‐Yves Empereur. Before, he was the director of a topographic operation at the INRAP from 2002 to 2003, and research engineer at the « Institut Français dʹArchéologie du Proche Orient » from 1998 to 2002. He has obtained a diploma as Architect DPLG from the « Ecole dʹArchitecture de Marseille », and a « Certificat dʹEtudes Approfondies en Architecture Architecture et archéologie » of the University of Strasbourg II.
Cécile SHAALAN is a CNRS engineer at the Centre dʹEtudes Alexandrines, and the leader of the topographic and cartographic service of the Centre since 2002. She is currently preparing her PhD thesis in language, history, and civilizations of ancient worlds and late antiquity (Mediterranean, Near East, and peripheral zones) at the, under the supervision of Jean‐Yves Empereur. She has a Geometer and Topographer diploma from the « Ecole Supérieure des Géomètres et Topographes (ESGT) » of the « Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) », and at the CEAlex, she is in charge of topographic reports on archeological excavation sites and the establishment of maps for scientific publications, the management of the “Cartothèque”, and the inventory of the ancient cartography of Alexandria.
